Mid-Autumn Festival: traditions and new trends

The Mid-Autumn Festival, derived from the custom of worshiping the moon in autumn in thanks for a bountiful harvest, has a history of over 3,000 years. It falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, or Sept. 10 this year.
